ABOUT US/SERVICES

Downtown Physicians Group is independently-owned and staffed by specialists in family practice, internal medicine and radiology. Serving downtown Lincoln employees and residents for more than 20 years, we are committed to offering the highest quality, personalized care. At Downtown Physicians Group, we work to build a trusting relationship with every patient. From the moment you walk in the door to the time you leave, we’re here to help make your visit as pleasant as possible.

Office Visits
Call for appointments between 8 am and 5 pm. When you call, be prepared to describe your health concern and symptoms as completely as possible. Our Call Center is staffed with nurses to help answer your questions and
schedule your appointments. They collect detailed information to best help your doctor know why you are calling. If your condition sounds serious, your doctor will be contacted. You may be referred to emergency care, or we may ask that you come to the office so we can see you right away.

In some cases, children may be uncomfortable visiting the doctor. Please let us know prior to your visit if there is anything we can do to help put your child more at ease. Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. There are times when someone else might have to bring your child in for the visit. If medical care is required, the parent or guardian must consent to the treatment before it begins. (Parental releases for minors to be seen). We prefer the parent or guardian to be present at all visits.

Laboratory
A variety of tests are available through our fully accredited and certified on-site laboratory. This allows us to perform many tests more conveniently for you and get the results back to your physician quickly.

Radiology
Radiology services, including diagnostic x-rays, bone density, mammography, and ultrasound are available through our fully accredited and licensed radiology department. This capacity allows us to better meet our patients’ needs while accommodating their busy schedules.

*Please note Laboratory and Radiology are not able to provide test results. You will be notified of your test results within 2 weeks. Most Normal results are mailed to you. If your results are abnormal your providers nurse will contact you. Please call our office if you have not received results in 2 weeks.

You can access our laboratory and radiology services on a referral basis from your worksite or from a physician outside of our clinic. For more information, contact us.

Preparing For Your Visit
If you need to transfer records from another physician’s office, please call and request a medical records release form. You can also download Medical Records Release form here and mail or fax to your physician. Please allow two weeks for the records to be transferred.

Bring a copy of your insurance card with you on each visit. If the insurance is in someone else’s name, bring the subscriber’s name, the subscriber’s date of birth, the subscriber’s social security number, and the name of the subscriber’s employer.

Most insurance plans have a co-pay amount that must be paid on the date of the visit. You can pay the co-pay amount with cash, a check, or VISA/MasterCard/Discover Card. Downtown Physicians Group Financial Policy explains more details about the Billing Process.

If you would like more detailed information about patient billing beyond the financial policy we have more detailed information available for you.
(Detailed Billing Information)

If you are on medications, or taking vitamins or herbal supplements, write down everything you are taking. Include the dosage information (for example, 5 milligrams, 3 times a day). If you can’t find the dosage, bring the containers with you.

When you are in the doctor’s office, it’s easy to forget everything you wanted to ask. Before your appointment, take a moment to write down your questions or concerns so you’ll be able to take full advantage of your visit.
